The preorder is $6325 it says and since the camera uses micro 4/3 lenses it should have the 4/3 sensor size which is smaller than the canon or nikon aps-c. I think its about a 2.0 crop. More info here:

Looks like a very promising camera for those that are looking to go the DSLR Route, but don't want to mess with the DSLR body. I didn't get to hear, what the sensor size was, but I'm assuming it's APS-C or 35mm equiv.

I think there was also a mis-statement made by Barry in that It's the first AVCCam to record uncompressed audio, as the Sony NX5 records PCM, and that's been available since before NAB 2010.

I'll say that seems like an excellent package, but what about the price tag? I don't think it will kill DSLR's entirely, unless you can see the cost come down to 1,000 USD. for me, I have plenty of ways to get good audio, I've adapted a workflow to line it up (audio has been apart from the pictures for years of film production and there are plenty of ways to work this... A clap board is one). And I can't find anywhere else I can get as good of picture as my rebel T2i for the price.

In my blog I explain the troubles it has but again, it's a small speed bump for an aspiring film maker to get excellent quality that competes with the big-timers. Some day I do expect I will see the kind of money I need to get better gear like this, but for now I am grateful for the DSLR and I'll always have a place for it in my arsenal.

I think this post is informative, and I'm glad to see technology moving this direction. I can't wait to try that camera and maybe replace my HPX-170, time to list on eBay...
