2 camera editing with the Cassie. Can't Post

I am an about to be purchaser of the Cassie. There is one question that I have however. I always use 2 cameras when shooting a wedding. So if I input the first camera into the Cassie and I want to do inserts with the second camera, do I have to input the second camera shots into the Cassie also? Seems like this would require a lot of HD space if done this way. Thus I would appreciate any suggestions or help on this matter. Also is it possible to do AB roll edits with the Cassie as an alternative to inserts? If so how can this be done? Thanks.

Received my Cassie yesterday and edited a 3 cam shoot today... a/b roll played in through a 20 min. ceremony w/ disolves and dropped in 3rd cam shots and added disolves to these inserts.Veeery easy! Takes no time at all if captured in real time off your 2 feeder decks.Add cam angles from 6 to 8 directions if you like ...add disolves and rock. Had no idea this was soooo easy and this fast. I've been linear till now for 16 years. Go Cassie!!!

Hi Tom!
We are dealers in Nevada. There are a couple of ways to accomplish your edit. You can use your Casablanca as an edit deck to record your A/B mix as if it were the edit deck in your linear system. Just mix on the fly and go back to correct any mistakes. This assumes you have an edit controller to start your A and B decks at the same time.
Another method is to record the entire piece with the first cam and go back and insert interesting second (or third or fourth) cam cutaways.
We recently completed a 53 act show using FIVE cameras. Each act was from 90 seconds to 4 minutes and the finished piece was totally seamless. There is no physical way in the world we could have done this in the old manner. Especially when you remember that the finished piece has the same picture and sound quality as the original camera master. And in many cases, better than the original because of the ability to enhance the original.
If you have not made your purchase, give us a call. Aladdin Productions-Las Vegas. 702/798-6063

>>>Tom, In addition to what Kenny mentioned about using the Cassie as an editing deck (recorder) in an A/B roll edit, I have a system whereby the mixer (if you have one) does all of the transitions HANDS OFF and your vcrs do not stop, pause, or hunt during the edit. This only works with certain mfg's equipment but if you are interested please e/mail me and I will fill you in. John Stockwell
