Anyone using their PC to record DVDs using firewire (DV) as the transfer method??
How do you configure capture pc to capture video on firewire?

I am having the same problem! Contacted Draco Tech Support and this was their response. "You may be able to use the IEEE1394 interface to download to your computer but if it does not work that is your computer problem." I contacted my computer Tech Support and confirmed that my IEEE1394 port was configured properly. It is and recognizes the Avio as an external device but I still can not download video. They said Draco should supply the drivers. But Draco is still moot on the point and/or the solution. Have you or anyone else had any success in researching this problem further? Thanks-- Bob Richards

Re: AVIO DV FIREWIRE --> PC [In reply to] Can't Post

My problem is that I could not even get my IEEE1394 port to recognize the Avio. Do you have a Mac or PC? Did it automatically recognize the Avio when you plugged it in?
I read on this message board that in order to export from avio via firewire, the project had to be in 'dv' mode - the highest quality setting. Supposedly this is a bug that hopefully someone at casablanca is working at right now.

Re: AVIO DV FIREWIRE --> PC [In reply to] Can't Post

I have a PC with Windows Me. In the Add New Hardware window it did not automatically recognize the Avio but in the manual mode it did-or at least it took me to the finish screen when I selected the IEEE 1394 controller so I assumed it was successful in identifying the Avio as a connected device. However I was still unsuccessful in downloading video. I set the Avio to the DV mode but in the finish screen I was prompted to select record to VTR rather than record to DV. The Avio manual specifically states record to DV shold be the option. Can not explain it. I have been successful in downloading video through a USB connection using Intel Create & Share software. The software is good and has many features but the image quality is not the best which I assume is the connection. That is why I want DV. If you send me your E-Mail address I will send you a picture as an example. I am determined to solve this problem----Bob
