Avio Add-Ons Can't Post

Is there any way out there to create your own add-ons for the Avio, maybe by being able to burn Smart Cards and add info to them. There has to be someone out there who is trying to get around buying all of these ridiculous "Upgrades" for the Avio systems. Also I'm wondering what operating system these machines are running on?? Any info. links or advice is greatly appreciated.

The Avio OS is based on VxWorks.
I don't think that you can create your own add-ons for your Avio.
