Avio Scene Trimming Question Can't Post

Hi Folks,

I'm new at the art of editing, and I have a quick question. I am using an Avio DVD. After I have split my footage in the scene bin, and realize I have some unwanted footage in the middle of that scene, can I edit it out? I know I can Trim from the beginning or end of the scene, but that dosen't help me get rid of what's in the middle. Any help would be appreciated.

To amplify what Chrissimms said, yes you would rename your scene and then go to Split in the Edit Screen. Click on Split Position and scroll to a point marking the end of a scene. Click 'use' if you wish to save that split scene or click 'drop' if you wish to delete that portion of your footage.

When you have worked through the whole scene click 'OK' and you will see you have the original scene to the left and all your split portions as well.

Another way some folks do this is to make a copy of a scene (using Copy in the Special button) and then trim out what they don't want -- the first is preferred but sometimes folks like different approaches.

Regards,

Chet
