Is there a way to transfer sound recorded in one project to another project?

Jim, you can not transfer sound files or video files between projects. You'll need to record them out and then input the audio back into the new project. However, I believe that if you have common audio/video files for all projects you can retain them within the project by deleting unwanted files rather then selecting "New Project". Selecting "New Project" will wipe-out all data assigned to that project.
