Avio tip for trimming long clip Can't Post

I like to share a trick I discovered recently while editing a long clip as part of an interview. I was stuck with a 15 minutes long clip, from which I needed a part in the middle containing a few typical sentences. How to locate this part? Because the clip showed the guy telling this story, the picture gave no clue as to the correct position for trimming. So I ran the whole 15 minutes and watched the counter. When I heard the sentence I was after, I jotted down the counter's value in minutes and seconds.
Then back to the trim mode. Now the problem is that if I use the INPOINT trim, the counter shows me the time left for the remaining clip, which is different from the figure I have written down. I could do some arithmitic at this point, but I decided for a simpler method: Use the OUTPOINT. Then move the outpoint back to the beginning, until the counter shows the figure written down. Now the outpoint is at the position where you want the inpoint to be.
Go back to the inpoint and move the inpoint all the way forward, until there's only 1 frame left. You can not go any further, so that's easy.
Go back to the outpoint and lengthen the clip again, until you have the right length. You might also have to adjust the inpoint slightly, because the first attempt is accurate to only a second of so. But now, its much easier to do this using the 3 second preview of the inpoint.
