Capture: DV -vs- SVideo Can't Post

Hi, I notice some differences between DV capture and SVideo capture. Which do you all prefer? I talked to one guy and he said he uses SVideo because it looked better. Is that true? Will you loose the lines of resulution if you use SVideo? I record back to a Panasonic HS2, does the Avio DV have a DV out, or is it "in" only?
Thank you,
Gilbert
