The Claro, being their entry-level editor, uses a different chip set than those found in their other editors. So, because of this, it can't take advantage of their DVD DICON technology; in which video data can be converted to the DVD format in real time. A hardware supported MPEG-2 compression makes this possible, resulting in a conversion time that is up to 20 times faster than on PCs. My understanding is the Claro will take longer for sure, but how much longer I don't know. Perhaps 2-3 times longer than what their DVD DICON technology can do. Would your dealer have an answer on this? Or, anything mentioned in the owner's manual? Take care, John
