DVD Audio sync problem. Can't Post

Hello, I have had problems with the audio gradually getting out of sync. It doesn't happen when the output is to vhs tape. Only outputting to DVD has problems. There are no effects or black screens inserted at the front as I have read about elsewhere. Everything will go along fine on the DVD and then it's out of sync. The storyboard plays perfectly, vhs does fine, DVD looses sync. Just a note, original source is miniDV. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Mark,

I have not personally experienced this myself, but my cousin had this problem when downloading his video thru firewire to his AVIO. If he is using svideo, it come in OK. Are you using firewire to export your video to your recorder? I'm new with this system, can you use firewire for an output connection? Has anyone else had this problem when downloading to the AVIO?

I capture the video using a usb port. The move looks fine. I am using Ulead software, then the software the came with my DVD burner. Also used the software that came with my capture unit. Not a thing works. I think maybe it might be a hardware problem. Maybe how the DVD burner is connected to the IDE controller. I need help. Please if anyone out there has had this problem or no's someway to fix it I would be very greatful.

I have also had this problem. I do not know what causes it but I do have a way to fix it. Re-encode the mpg file with TMPGEnc. This has always worked for me. Unfortunately, re-encoding takes a lot of time. I imagine that there is probably a better way to do this, but I have not found it.

Re: DVD Audio sync problem. [In reply to] Can't Post

After getting a DV upgrade for our Avio last year, we failed to use it because we had no way to export digital video. Today we tried. Using firewire between our Sony Digital 8 videocam & Avio we got an excellent picture, but the audio went out of synch the first time I tried to control the input from the Avio (as the instructions suggest you can.) This is before we even tried to record anything. Reinserting the tape anew did not help. With the usual analog connection, audio and vide were once again in synch. Does this mean the Firewire interface is effectively useless, or is there a fix for this someone might know? Thanks, Bill
