Dark Video Can't Post

Hi all,
I just recently shot a wedding video and could not help where my cam had to be. In the back ground there was some windows. You probably know where I'm going with this... my video is some what dark. Would there be any way I could fix this? I'm using a GL2 and a Avio system to edit. I did have another cam elsewhere that I could use the video.
Thank you,
Gilbert

Try adjusting the saturation and hue on your Avio also can play with the Brightness and Contrast. These functions mostly take place int he gamma section of your software. Make small adjustments at a time and you can make quite a difference.

Bear's right on the money ... Adjusting the gamma will help a lot. But the rendering times will be painful. Plan on an overnight render ... maybe 2.

I noticed that when capturing with DV, I can't change Brightness, Contrast nor Saturation. Is that normal? What am I missing? Thank you all for your help.

Yes, that's normal. But even if you captured via YC (a.k.a. S-Video), there are still no gamma controls to fix the problem. If you have a friend with a ScreenPlay or an Avid Xpress DV system, they could probably color correct the video for you pretty quickly and then you could dump it into the Avio for editing.

You can also check out a pro amp from www.sfzmediagroup.com This can help with the darkness when printing to video.
