Importing files Can't Post

How does one import video or still pictures from a CD? Can one? I know how to import audio but nothing else.

Thanks for your help,
Luke

Luke,

Do you know if your unit has Smart Edit on it and what version? Some may operate differently with regards to your photo-importing question.

John

Are you sure you have 2.4? And finally to help answer your question correctly, do you indeed have a Claro?

You are totally right! It is version 4... 4.1 to be exact. And yes, it is absolutely a Casablanca Claro.

Gracias

Actually, with what you have you can certainly use any memory card of your choice and import your photos. As of now, you'll have to take those photos on CD and simply copy them to a memory card and import that way. In several weeks, you can go directly off a CD via their Photo Studio 2, in addition to doing many other things as well - see below.

Photo Studio 2
With Photo Studio 2 loaded on several of our Solitaire as well as the Louvre (see below), folks got to see the many new benefits in this forthcoming software. The new features I love are:
*Import/Export from/to CD: Hooray! We can import JPEGs from a CD and archive them back to CD as well. This will be a great addition to the current ability to use contemporary digital media cards as well as the USB Jump drives.
*Drawers gives you the ability to easily organize your digital photos, with drag and drop capability for re-arranging your photos this will be important as Photo Studio 2 enables a large number of photos to be brought in for processing.
*Compare: enabling you to select 2, 3 or 4 photos for comparison. I find this to be of true value for anyone who had done digital photography (when you take 2 or more shots of a similar scene and want to select the best while viewing the details of each of them!)
* Animation: Hats off to the developers who have dramatically improved the render time of animations. A 7 second animation took only some 15-seconds to complete and the quality is as stunning as ever! Also I love the new 'center' button that automatically moves your camera move/edit point to the optical center of the photo based on your zoom ratio.
* High Resolution Slide-show; with this capability you can create a slide show (yes, even add transitions and music) and playback directly via VGA port to a high resolution projector.
Several more capabilities we will share in the coming weeks.

Luke,

In addition to John's comments above using Photo Studio 2, you could now (since your Claro has the integrated digital media card drive and the Photo Trasnfer software) use any of the digital card media to import/export JPEGs into your Claro.

Also, with Disk Transfer software you can use the internal DVD drive to import/export full motion video files, saved as an AVI file to/from your unit.

Regards,

Chet
