Is Avio the Answer? Can't Post

Hello, starting a new business. Will be recording on a Cannon GL1 and will be shooting basic conference room meeting type stuff using LAV external Sony microphones, proffesional Shure mixer Etc. The end product will be dumped onto SVHS or regular VHS because of requirements. My thinking is to purchase an "Avio DV" for about $1,795.00 or an "Avio Pro" for about $2,295.00.
-I will be doing fairly simple editing.
-The length of the footage that I could be editing from, could be an hour to as long as 8 hours.
-The shot DV footage will be dumped via Firewire, edited then the final version will be dumped onto SHVS via SVIDEO.
Questions:
-Will the AVIO fit the bill?
-Does the AVIO have a +/-0 Frame Accuracy?(Another requirement)
-If so, given the situation, which system would you go with?
-Is there another system (perhaps PC based) you would recommend?
-Does the Avio have the ability to burn the final version onto a DVD or CD using external equipment?

Trying to save as much money as I can, but I don't want to skimp. This job needs to be done with complete accuracy, and in the quickest possible time. Reliability is also a must, so hopefully by now, most bugs are worked out.
Thank you for all responses!

No answers yet Jon? Well after using the Cassie Classic a few years and aware of the constant improvements to the Avio..either machine will suit you and yes frame accurate. If important do yourself a favor and clone a second copy of your work as you shoot to another digital cam or deck as you work. A backup will at one time or another be needed so don't rely on a single cam for anything that pays. You can burn directly from S or composit output to the DMR E-20 Panasonic DVD machine. This deck records over 9 hours on a double sided disc or uses DVD-R 4.7 Gig discs for distribution. No computer needed and the picture is increadable. and I'm never lettin go my Cassie. Aloha

Hey Mike: Man this like an uphill battle. Just got off the phone with a "techie" at Cannon. This is what he tells me:
1) The GL1 can't be used as a "Pass through" only unless there is a DV tape in the Camera taping at the same time. Apparently, the Cannon XL1"S" camera can only do this without a DV tape. This really @#$% because your Idea with the Panasonic DVD recorder is a great idea. Now, it doesn't make sense to burn a DVD at the same time since the cost is at least $20.00 a pop to keep brand new DV80's each project just to pass the signal through. I might as well just stick to recording DV80(LP)=120 minutes which will sync up with the 120/min. SVHS's. Also, that Panasonic DVD recorder doesn't have a Firewire/In (Pioneer makes one that does/twice as much money) and my SVIDEO/Out on the Gl1 will be sending its signal to my 2 SVHS recorders. Which leads me to the next issue that this Canon Techie brought up.
2) He doesn't know for sure if I can send more than one signal (Firewire/Out to the DVD recorder) & (SVIDEO/Out + Audio/Out to the 2 SVHS recorders) all at the same time. Plus now, he's telling me about that DV tape which also needs to be recording at the same time just to allow the signal or signals to pass through. Confused yet? I sure am. In fact, it just hit me (from reading your post again) that you were referring to burning a DVD backup from the Cassie and not the GL1 camcorder. I'm sure you're thinking, what is this guy on?...LOL
I guess I should re-post some of this on the GL1/Xl1 board.
Thanks for your response though. It sounds like the Avio is the way to go for my NLE editing system.
Sorry if I wasted your time.
