Linking Cassie DV to MacG3 firewire	Can't Post

Hello,
Has someone experience connecting the Cassie DV-port with the firewire port of the new Macintosh : this to get images, movies from the Mac and back.
I have the correct cable from Sony (VMC-IL4615) , but can't get it to work.
Is it possible ? Suggestions ?
Software ? Settings ?
