Hi, DO NOT TAKE A FEED FROM THE MAIN AUDIO MIXER, UNLESS YOU ARE THE ONE OPERATING IT OR ONE OF YOUR WORKERS! Sorry for the yelling, but I cannot express this enough, unless you have full control over the main mixer, do not use it, use your own microphones and place them around the stage. We have numberous horror stories about taking audio feed from the house mixer. AHHHHHHHHH If you want to be brave and go with the house sound guy who most of the time doesn't know what he/she is doing, I would still setup your own mics and run into your own mixer and then record to tape or into the Avio. : Les, : Your question whether it is stereo mixed or not depends entirely on what the sound reinforecment folks are doing with the audio. They could be producing a stereo mix or could be simply sending a monural signal out both speakers. : I have done live events and took a direct feed from the audio mixer (console) straight into my record deck (actually the Avio) and then mixed 3 cameras live and fed that video signal into the Avio as well. : : You might want to do a search in your friendly local meta search engine with the term microphone placement and you come up with serveral online articles. : : Regards, : Chet
