NTSC/PAL Cassie W/VX 1000 ??? Can't Post

Hi Cassieheads,
I have recently purchased Sony VX1000 DV camera (NTSC) and I'm planning to purchase a 060 CB w/ Firewire immediately. My question is in regards to NTSC and PAL as it turns out ( all of a sudden ) I am moving to Australia (PAL)!
Can I go ahead and purchase a NTSC Casablanca to go with my camera (already have) and edit then do a conversion from NTSC to PAL if it is to be broadcast in OZtralia? Will there be a loss in quality ?, can it be converted? , is there hardware available for me to convert myself that is affordable?, do you take it somewhere to be done? Does having a IEEE1394 Firewire set up negate this potential situation by being able to direct feed into Pal or NTSC formats? (Am I way off????) Please enlighten me if you have constructive knowledge or experience to share.
I would be very grateful,
Thanks in advance,
"Soon to be downunder"
Steve

Hi you ol' Cassie freak you...If most of your work will down under, sell the 1000 and pick up a Pal version to match the Pal Cassie software. You'll be better off because there is loss at conversion and motion artifacts although slight.... We do weddings here in Hawaii for clients from all over the globe and use a low end Samsung 3000 to burn copies for English, Scots, Swedish, german,Switzerland etc clients. While the Cassie NTSC to Pal and Secam copies look fine on our multi scan monitor, tiny blurs reveal clients may not be receiving the best peoduct they might have if I were using 100% Pal equipment. Nooo complaints though....only thanks letters. Bottom line ...use a system totally consistant with your home clientel and transfer scan systems for the least demand clients.Your cam cost less than the Cassie I'm fairly sure soooo replace the 1000. The future is uncertain yes? "Here today Gone to Maui" rather Waikiki in our case Love the Aussies....do a lot of their weddings...New Zealanders also. You'll love it there . Aloha, Mike
