Anyone know of a way to take time lapse with a camcorder? Thanks!

There are several approaches:
1) Some camcorders like the Sony TRV950 / VX2100 / PD170 let you use "interval recording", which is basically time-lapse.
2) If the time period isn't longer than the 60 min. (for a 60 min. MiniDV tape) just let the camera record for the whole time. Then use your NLE software to take every tenth frame or whatever interval you want. Some editors also provide time remapping which has many options. This type of approach has the advantage that it works with any camcorder.
3) There are dedicated industrial time lapse recorders available, but they are expensive and don't include a camera.

I would keep in mind that while Ray is completely correct in his info, doing
extensive time lapse with your camcorder places a considerable amount of wear and
tear on your cam's transport and other mechanical bearings. These are not really
designed for that type of use over much time, though they can certainly do the job.
