UW Housing for Canon GL 1 & 2 for Sale

Currently on On Ebay ... This is a Ocean Images underwater scuba housing that fits both the Canon GL-1 and GL-2 video cameras (camera is not included). The curent internal try is for the GL-1, but a new GL-2 tray is approx. $25 from Ocean Images. It is rated to 200 feet and has been used in Saipan and the US. No leaks. The GL-1 is a great three chip camera and the prices are coming down on the used cameras making them a real bargain. The GL-2 is the latest Canon 3 chip in this class. Either is a perfect match for this unit. The design of this unit allows you to easily and comfortably see the standard flip-out display panel though a clear rear port that covers the entire end of the housing. No peeping though small holes or expensive add-on video backs like with other makers. The controls are on the grip and provide on/off, zoom, focus, etc. There is a flippable red correction filter on the front end. The camcorder screws onto an internal mounting plate and slides in from the rear. The clear rear plate has 4 safety locked latches making a good seal to the O-ring. It comes with a weight that attaches to the bottom of the unit to make it neutral or negative. The top has a carry handle for ease of transport. The body is a plastic material, not metal. See the Ocean Images site for details. Cost new is $1, 450.00. This a great unit and has worked great for me. Please note that there is a crack in one of the handles that was repaired (see photo). This does not effect the watertight integrity of the unit or the use of the handle. Here is the Email from OI indicating that this housing will fit both cameras (shorter versions only fit the GL-1). Dear Mike, Yes, if your GL1 housing is 13 inches long then it will also work for the GL2 camcorder. The only thing different is the camera mounting tray.
