Very impressed with the DV footage response... Can't Post

Hey Guys,
Pursuant to my recent posting response to Charlie's question "Who's Buying", I have a comment/proposal I would like to make.
I've had more than one return Email to my response and I sense those whom have answered are eager to make some money whilst pursuing their passion.
Seems to me there are a few really dedicated Pacific Rim U/W Videographer's visiting this discussion board, most shooting using 6mm DVT footage which is broadcast quality. Here in Vancouver, Canada, our associates, Forefront Post & Music, own a very state-of-the-art Video / Audio / Multimedia Post Production facility, they are partners with one of Canada's leading Television Series Production Companies, Forefront Entertainment International.
I suggest we all start talking about developing a concept for a Pacific Rim based, low-budget, U/W Television Series utilizing everyone's stock footage, conducting pick-up shoots when & where appropriate. I know we are in the position to negotiate financing, sponsorship & a broadcast distribution contract to 85 countries, internationally, through my associates.
Anyone interested, let's discuss the topic, we're open to concept suggestions...
Respectfully,
Phil Adams - Manta Multimedia Inc. - Vancouver, B.C., Canada

If you got a project in the area of the Philippines and thereabouts, and need a cameraman --- let me know. I can also
organize shoots here if you want.
regards,

Gordon

:Phil-Very good idea. I live on Guam and have pretty extensive footage from Palau, Truk, Yap, etc. and Indonesia, plus some very unique sperm whale footge. We are currently gathering stories for a show called "Pacific Storyboards" but your has a lot of merit. Please keep me posted on any future developments.

Pacific Storyboards Production... [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Pete,
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I've been very busy. Yeah, so, Pacific Storyboards huh? That sounds interesting, do you have anything scripted for the North-Eastern Pacific? I've been talking with Charlie Springer lately and between we and him, I'm sure we could help you out with an episode on "The Emerald Sea" if this is a Series, or a segment if it's a 1-off documentary. Heck, we could even do all the post right here, sending you the master in Beta SP if you prefer.
The "Emerald Sea" is original and incredible, Charlie has some great 6mmDVT footage of Kelp Forests, I have some excellent 6mmDVT footage of recently scuttled Canadian Destroyers, sunk in order to create artificial reefs. Whatever we lack, I'm sure we could find on a pick-up shoot, affordabely.
I'm meeting with the Executive Producers at Forefront Entertainment International in early September to discuss our ATMOSPHERES project and other potential TV series concepts. Keep in touch, Email your thoughts and ideas and let's see if we can congrigate, create and conspire in the near future.
Respectfully,

Do you have any 6mm DVT footage of reef destruction caused by "dynamite" fishing? [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Gordon,
Good to hear you're available. I hear the Phillipines has, in the past, experienced significant damage to it's coral reefs due to negligent "dynamite fishing" practices, do you have any documented video evidence of this apparent destruction? I know a client that may be interested.
I read your articles about the Dive-Rite "Watervisions" lighting systems, interesting. I know Pauline Heaton myself, the owner of "Watervisions", the Lady whom developed those lighting heads. She lives just across the River from us, and yes, those are good systems now that she has partnered with DIVE-RITE. Have you seen the latest Feature Film she shot, "LAKE PLACID"? Watch for it coming to a theatre near you, I believe she used her "Watervisions" systems to light the set.

Dynamite Fishing video --- Yes I have. [In reply to] Can't Post

I have footage of the after effects of blast fishing. Though not as prevalent as before, blast fishing does still occur together with cyanide fishing. I can also shoot footage of algae blooms created by excess nutrients caused by soil erosion and misuse of fertilizer from the paddy fields.

Please tell Pauline Heaton I think I'm the only person the Philippines using the Water vision lighthead. I love them. I've never seen a lighthead that gives a more even and more diffused light. (With the exception of surfaced powered lights). I wish I could afford a second lamp head so I could do better macro shots.(Have you ever seen a half a dozen glass shrimps on an anemone? Super hard to light up evenly at night).
