microphone to add to my existing housing?? Can't Post

I have a custom built fibreglass housing for my Sony PDX10. I shoot surfing and
other action sports.
I want to add a microphone to the housing so that I can capture decent quality
sound and maybe even run some interviews in the water.
Does anyone have any micorphone recommendations and info on where I could
purchase?
I contacted the Amphico dealer here in Aust. but he said he wasn't able (under
contract) to sell me one of their waterproof microphones.
thanks in advance!

Gates Housings Part Number: 5025021. B&H Photo/Video has it for $210. Or you can probably get it faster directly from Gates, it's listed on their website
B&H also has an Equinox replacement u/w microphone for $149. Here's a link to both of them:

Let me know if this works out for you, I'm in a similar situation, I have a dive housing that I'm thinking of retro-fitting with a microphone later this summer.

Thanks Steve,
I'm going to check both these mics out. I'm in Australia but will be able to buy
online with B&H.
If anyone has any experience with these microphones, or feedback on microphones
in their existing housing, it would be greatly appreciated.
My intention is more capture sound out of the water (e.g. interviewing someone
sitting on a surfboard) more so than capture sounds underwater.
best wishes

Be careful though, my mic on my amphibico pd150 housing picks up sounds
underwater well, but you can hardly hear anything on the surface except for
water hitting the mic or buttons being pressed on the housing. I think their
setup for higher frequency sounds, such as whales, dolphins etc.

I use a diaphram mic from Amphibico that was used in the VX-1000 housing. It is fantastic above and below water. I put it in an undersea video t-9 housing and use it to chase hurricanes. This is what you want.

Any idea where I can get one of these microphones?

Sounds like you are happy with the audio you get from the hydrophone mic on land. Is this correct? more information.

My housing will be in the water, but the majority of audio I would like to get is when floating on the surface.

cheers
