ACDSee 8 Pro kicks CS2's arse! Can't Post

I love photoshop and it will always be my #1 image editing app. However the Adobe Bridge is painfully slow and inefficient plus eats up system ram faster than a fat kid with a plate of cookies. I just downloaded the trial version of ACDSee 8 Pro and WOW...it's everything Adobe Bridge ISN'T. It's a smaller download, uses less ram, and load/catalogs images much MUCH faster and more efficiently. Not only that the thumbnail scaling is almost instantaneous. That is with a folder full of 2,000 10 megapixel images! Adobe Bridge absolutely chokes.

It's a shame I have to use 3 image apps. Photoshop for editing, ACDSee for cataloging, and PaintShop pro for thumbnailing/viewing.

If your workflow entails loging and sorting thousands of images at a time I HIGHLY recommend ACDSee 8 Pro!

Thanks for the heads up.. I was reading an article on ACDSee and am glad to see someone has found it useful. I avoid Adobe bridge. To date if I have needed to find an image or .PSD, I've been very sucessful with Google desktop. Damn if I can remember where I've put all those files.

If you don't know the risks of using Google Desktop please read my article on the software here, and be careful.

IF that is true, it would be against their own privacy policy. Thus oppening themselves up to countless lawsuits. Where did you hear that it copies your personal files up to their servers?

EDIT: After doing a decent amount of research, I've found security concerns of the Google Desktop enabling users to be able to search cached web pages that might include personal information such as passwords, bank account records, etc (any past web history). Although I have that feature disabled, you never know. The feature to upload files to Google is only if you enable searching across multiple computers. For those of us who do not search across multiple computers, the files do not leave the local machine.

No guff? ;)

EDIT: Link didn't work...try this: http://news.com.com/...-1002_3-6041338.html You can find it yourself by typing 'google desktop security' into google. Not too difficult.
