Buying Photoshop on eBay Can't Post

Photoshop deals seem to abound, so should I pay retail?

There are a several sellers who are selling an "unregistered" CS version, along with a sealed CS2 upgrade. They seem to have excellent feedback, and offer paypal $1000 protection. The thing that makes me nervous is that they all seem to have "Keep buyer id private" set, so I can't see who is buying, nor can I see what previous buyers have bought fomr them. Two in Florida, one in California.

Less legitimate is someone selling a copy for $51 (current bid). No box, supposedly regsiterable, decent feedback over long period, but not much form buyrs. It looked like maybe a version he used on his own machine without registereing, but he has about 6 of these listed, could be a listing error, or who knows what?

Any special concerns about buying photoshop over eBay, above and beyond the usual? Is this item known for scammers (like Hollywood Camerawork course) ??

All popular software has pirate versions floating around.

I wouldn't buy used, unless the seller is also providing the box, or at least the printed users manual. Otherwise, you can't be sure that you're not getting a copy.

Okay Doug. As ong as no special problems to be aware of, I am going to go for the CS + factory sealed Cs2 upgrade, with paypal guarantee. It almost makes sense too that this could happen, when old copies of CS get outdated. Big difference in price. It seems odd that Adobe wouldn't recal all the out of date stuff to avoid this issue, but who knows???

Re: [DVXGalt] Buying Photoshop on eBay [In reply to] Can't Post

I purchased my photoshop through ebay and the first time it wasn't sent. I ordered from someone out of Germany...Then I ordered again an "unregistered" "new" version and when I got it It looked like a very good pirated version....so I called adobe to explain and register so they said that its was not registered and its now registered in my name and now I have extra money and according to Adobe I am the owner of that product.
