Can you turn off the automatic photo downloader in PhotoShop 7.0? Can't Post

Whenever I put my CF card in my computers, PS 7.0 automatically tries to download all the pictures to the hard drive. I've tried to find where to turn this feature off, but can't find it. Any ideas?

Try this:

Right click on the drive letter for your card reader & click "Properties". Click the "AutoPlay" tab, then select the "Prompt me each time to choose an action", or leave the "Select an action to perform" and click on "Take no action" button at the bottom of the list.

Thanks! I'll try that.

Whenever the automatic "choose an action" window would come up, I'd select "take no action", but it'd still prompt me every time. Like you say, I think I probably got to do it in the card reader properties.

My editing computer has really flaked out lately. Since I last reloaded WindowsXP, PhotoShop 7 did an update, now my computer seems bogged down, and whenever I open folders containing pictures, it takes forever for the computer to index the contents of the folder, generate thumbnails, etc.Mad

I also spent the last few months trying to figure out how my RAID 0 array had got corrupted. I reloaded the OS and RAID drivers several time, switched RAID controllers, and even dropped $$$$$ on new hard drives. After all that, it turns out that I think it was just a bad SATA cable. Mad How does a cable go bad just sitting still in a computer case??? And then, I found my film transfer machine works fine WITHOUT the RAID. Crazy So, I'm gonna reload my OS one last time, without RAID drivers, and see if I can get my computer speeding along again.

So how did that reload go?

Note: I don't really care. I just got tired of seeing your name at the top of the VU forum page all the time.
