Mode Mixing... Can't Post
Can anyone offer some good training on Mode Mixing with Photoshop? I CS for all of my video slates and would like to take them to the next level. They look good now, but plane due to the seperate layers. I know I can do more by adjusting the modes, but I guess I just don't have the layers in the right order for this to happen...

Yes I am. I have seen these done in demonstration, however in my own trial, the end result is always worthless. The best I've ever been able to do is to apply some roses to a brick background. I know that by using the different modes, I will be able to unlock more of the Photoshop Power. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Modes carry from Photoshop to Illustrator as well as to After Effects. This could be very beneficial...

You are right. Blend modes are powerful. here is a blend mode tutorial to help you understand what each blend modes does to an image.

But the best way to understand them is to practice with them. Play with them and pay close attention to how blend modes interact.

a quick example of how useful blend modes can be is it can help with fixing an underexposed image.

Take the underexposed image and duplicate it(careful not to move it). Set the top layer(the duplicate) blend mode to screen. This should correct the image. it should now be brighter. If it's too bright then adjust the opacity to decrease the brightness. If it's not bright enough, duplicate the 'screen layer' again.

Quick and easy and it's one of many tips/tricks you can do with blend modes.
