Nice tips thanks. I've been using PS 7 for awhile and have been pretty much self taught since v.5. Most of the time I will scan, cut out and take my graphics directly into a project with a transperant background made at 720x480 for DV editing or 720x486 for my Globecaster broadcast switcher system. In most cases that has seemed to work without distorting the image or at least it looks like it OK. I will say that after well over a year of watching regular 4:3 TV on a 16:9 HDTV, has changed the way things look to me. The whole world has gained weight. Anyway, I was never taught the resampling thing, so I've never really used it. I'm just wondering why I haven't seen a big difference working the way I have.

I'm on Version 7 as well...but will be upgrading to CS soon via a promotion from my Wacom Intuos 3 tablet. I always create my graphics at 720x540. Once they are completed I go ahead and resize the finished composition to 720x480 which will squash it vertically. However once brought into the NLE or DVD authoring program it rights it'self and is in perfect aspect ratio. CS has some extra tools that just make it easier.

Lee did a good job. I am going to print it and keep it in the editing room for next time I work with stills. I am looking forward to experimenting with the green screen chroma key capabilities. It is something which I have steered clear of Blush but this makes it sound so simple.

Hi Rick,

What you see is all we have at the moment. I'd be willing to bet, though, that the tips will be prety much the same. Try them out and see what you think. If you learn of major differences, I'll gladly post your findings as an update to the article.
