Photoshop template for Epson DVD printing Can't Post

I contacted Epson and got the information required to create a template to print to DVD directly from Photoshop.

The one I created can be used with:
Stylus Photo R200
Stylus Photo R300
Stylus Photo R800
Stylus Photo 960

It cannot be used with the Stylus Photo 900. To create it yourself or to view the other Epson specs I used then go here

I had to cut the resolution to be able to attach it here, so make sure you resize to 300 dpi before using. It is only a guide, so resizing wont hurt anything. For printing you just make sure it is set to A4 paper and manual paper source and it works perfectly!

Good Job, TimK!

I've also found a reasonably priced software product that has helped me make excellent labels using a number of different off-the-shelf products from Avery, etc. The application is called Label Printer Pro, and can be found at http://www.payplaysoftware.com/

Cheers!

Go here:

for the specs.
If you are fairly comfortable with Photoshop, it's not hard to follow the Epson guidelines to make your own for the 900

This worked great. I did up the resolution on the template. It is set at 75dpi when you download it. I really like working in Photoshop so this made my week!

Thanks!

It will work with hub printable for the outside border, but the inside of course is different. I dont have any, so I can't figure it out. I couldnt get the specs from Epson for hub printable because they recommend not using them!? I dont know why.

I use this template for our hub printable DVDs. It just requires a little bit of manual work and some test DVDs. I measured the radius of he hub and expanded the template by that amount. Got it to work perfect in a couple tries. If you use the selection tool and constrain it to 1 X 1 fixed aspect ratio, it is quite easy.

Hi TimK,

Could you post the information Epson provided you for making templates for the r200 printer?

The template you posted here is causing my r200 to print to the hub on non-hub printable DVD's and that's causing ink to pool up on the clear hub area and then onto the rollers. For hub printable DVD's it prints great.

Thanks.

That's weird. Make sure you have the settings right (i.e. A4 paper). The link for the specs I used is on my original post. If everything else on the disk prints right, but ink is pooling in areas where no printing should occur, it sounds like something is wrong with your printer and you should contact Epson. Epson recommends not using hub printable disks on the R200. I dont know why, but if you ever have before maybe you damaged your printer.

Re: [TimK] Photoshop template for Epson DVD printing [In reply to] Can't Post

I used the specs you provided and made my own template in photoshop just to test it out and it prints great on the non-print to hub cd's\dvd's. The alignment was 100% correct.

Thanks for those specs.
