Select Layer CS2... Can't Post

I don't know if I've lost it or what, but I can't select the contents of my layers in CS2.

I highlight the layer and hit Ctrl and click on the layer. Nothing happens and the layer is
deselected.

I want to select the contents of the layer to fill with a different color. Is this a gray moment,
what am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
L

Never mind, I found the problem.
In CS2 you have to click on the thumbnail itself in the layers pallette.
Wfewww....I thought I was gonna have to learn PS all over again!
Blonde/gray moment.
Thanks anyway.

Not true... Tongue I bet you probably had something selected and they you tried selecting another layer without unselecting (CTRL+D) the first layer.

Nope Tongue, I had used the CtrlD to clear everything.

I just opened the file again and it does the very same thing.
It will select if you clip on the thumbnail, but not if you click on
the layer bar itself.
Dunno, doesn't make sense to me either.
