What you are likely running into is that when you import a picture into InDesign, it puts in a low resolution image as a "place holder" or FPO. This is done so that the program can run quickly when you have many pages with images on them. To see the image in high resolution, you need to select the image with the black arrow tool, and then choose Object>Display Performance>High Quality Display. This should make the image nice and crisp unless your image is low resolution (i.e. 72 dpi). One of the many the cool things about InDesign, is that you can select individual elements to see their high quality display, or you can have the whole document be viewed as high quality display. I am a graphic designer by trade, and work in a print shop. Any questions anyone may have, please send them my way, and I can hopefully answer them. Thank you, WOOTAN
