Star Filter Can't Post

How can I create the good ol star filter effect on light sources. Is there such a filter for Photoshop or do I have to get the old filter out and screw it back on my lens when I want that effect.

You can use the "lense flare" option under "render" effects.

Yea, but thats not the same effect, doesn't have a realistic look and shows a ring around the star. There mus be something better that would give the effect of the good ol star filter.

You could always try some of the brushes off adobe exchange.

Some of the brushes, or maybe simulate it from another image that has the star. I'm sure there are plugins for it, but you would have to pay for them.
