crop tool Can't Post

Does anyone know how, in Adobe Photoshop to set the crop tool back to its default setting or at least where I can crop in free form? I have it stuck in some sort of 4 x 6 crop option and I'm not sure how to get it out of it.

What version are you using? In V7, on the top left where the little crop icon shows up while crop is selected, there is a width/height/resolution sectoin. There should be a "clear" button just right of those fields. This will clear your crop restrictions.

I rarely - if ever - use the crop tool. I always use the marquee tool and just type ALT+I, P for 'crop'.
Granted, the crop tool allows for readjustments before the actual crop, but somehow I never seem to use that feature.

Cheers!

Once you are in crop mode, at the top there are 3 options (maintain aspect, freeform or one where you enter the specs (e.g., 4 x 6)). Select freeform and you are good to go.
