probably a stupid question.. but... Can't Post

how do you change the opacity of a layer? Example, I want to change the opacity of a jpg to like 50% or something.

You can set the opacity when you first create the layer, or change it with a little slider at the top of the Layers palette.

Look at the top of the Layers palette and you'll see Opacity 100% -- make sure whatever layer you want to have opacity dropped to 50% is selected, then use the drop down list....OR the faster way is....with the layer selected in the layers palette just press the number 5 and it'll instantly be set to 50%.
