I would stay away from using a splitter on this type of setup as, IMO, it wll probably be a recipe for disaster on a couple of different levels. First off, ideally you would want to feed each signal to a field mixer. This will give you control over the two seperate feeds- and give a better chance for the iRiver to handle the recording. With that said, I suppose some people have had some success using the iRiver in this fashion to capture a rather high mic level feed...but the chance of getting anything worth using would be iffy at best. The pre-amp circuit on the iRiver was never designed for this type of use. You may have success though...especially with the RODE M3 mic if you select the -20dB pad to drop the level going into the iRiver.... I would suggest doing a test of the system before the gig...the easiest way would be to place the mics in front of your home stereo system and crank volume on the stereo to a level just short of having the neighbors calling the cops....this should tell if your mics/setup will be able to not only handle the high spl load, but see if you have enough lattitude with setting the levels on the iRiver.... Good luck :-) _________________________ Mark
