Need mini disc recorder help Can't Post

I've been using the Sony MZ-NF810CK mini disc recorder for the past two years to record the vows. I've read the manual many times and always seem to get a low humming noice. I've tried to re-adjust the recording settings (mic sensitivity, recording levels, etc.) but nothing seem to help. Does anyone else use this recording device? If so, can you share the settings that you use?

If we can't resolve this issue, I may just use the mini disc for recording the readers and purchase a different audio recorder. Any suggestions??? I've read a great deal about the iriver but am having difficulity finding them online.

Unsure

Hi Linda,

Have you tried another mic with the minidisc? I've been using them for years and haven't had any humming noises. Although for vows, I use a Sennheiser UHF system.

For lapel mics, I use these with the minidisc recorders:

I don't recall adjusting any settings for mic-in use; I just haven't had the need. For soundboard and house systems, I go "line in."
