Settings for G2 Wireless Can't Post

I thought I would post my settings for using the Sennheiser G2 wireless system with my PD170.

Camera: AGC set to on for both channels

Reciever set to: AF out -24db
Transmitter set to -10db

These settings give me pretty consistant audio for the Pastor and Groom as well as tapping into the DJ's Sound System.

Hi Chris

Having your Reciever set to: AF out -24db seems a little low to me. I would think this would cause your AGC on your camera to increase which would invite more nose from your pre-amp (or what-ever it would be called) I'm not sure if that is called pre-amp or not, but it still seems like if you had your receivers output a little higher, then your camera's AGC wouldn't have to open up higher.

Hey, what a great idea. But I think settings will differ based on the cams we use since the amp circuitry isn't the same. Plus if we're feeding directly into the mic jack or running it through an XLR adapter Here's mine for the VX2100:

My AGC is always in "manual" through XLR hookups. The VX runs too hot for my tastes.

(1) Groom: transmitter = -20db sensitivity. Receiver = +00db AF out.

(2) DJ's Speaker: transmitter (bodypack) = -10db sensitivity. Receiver = -12db AF out. (e604 mic at the speaker). I'll split this with an iRiver set to Ext Mic and a Volume of 50).

(3) RCA Record Out" Jack: transmitter (Senn butt plug) = -50db sensitivity. Receiver = -12db AF out. I'll also split this with an iRiver set to Ext Mic and a Volume of 50).

(4) Headphone jack. This always involves an attentuator and a prayer.
