I thought some or someone said they used the H2 on the podium for the Homily and readers. My question is ... if you're doing this ... how? I can see running a mic to the H2 with the H2 hidden on the floor, so that's no issue ... but is there anyway to get it on the podium without it being in the way so we would be able to use the built-in microphones? (Without someone yelling because you used gaffer's tape.) I normally use my Marantz PMD620 fro readings and homily, but have used my H2 as well. I simply place the H2 on the lectern and use the internal mics on 120 degree spread. I have even stood the H2 upright on the lectern and recorded this way. To date placing the recorder on the lectern hasn't gotten in the way. You can even clamp it to the lectern if you like. Lots of options to use the onboard mics. If you prefer using a plug in mic, you could place the H2 in the lectern and then run a lav mic into the 1/8 port and tape it to the gooseneck mic on the lectern. I see no need to run a mic if you have good internal mics. Another way if you prefer is to place the H2 near the church PA systems and capture this way.
