Why I love my Zoom H2 Can't Post

I have a Zoom H2 and it's main job is recording musicians at weddings. The ambient mics do such a nice job. Stick it in the middle of a string quartet and it's like you are sitting there again when you listen to it. Yesterday's wedding had a sax quartet that was really good. Here's a song from the recording. No filters or additional effects added. The H2 was sitting about 3 feet away from them on a railing. I did boost the volume a tiny bit but no post processing on the recording to sweeten it. This is why I love the H2

I know the H2 isn't best for direct feeds but for this purpose it is a great little tool

Excellent stuff!

I have the H2 as well and just ordered two H4n units. Hopefully these three can cover the music and podium for me. I needed to step up a bit when it comes to audio.

You couple will love that quartet sound.

Yup....I wanted to nail the audio yesterday. The bride used to play sax in the University of WI marching band so it was kind of a special thing for them. The person in charge of the quartet is going to call about getting a copy for their own use.

Very cool.

I did shot stills for a wedding a couple of weeks ago and I'll be darned if they didn't have one heck of a brass quintet. Very professional.

I'm starting to think I need to take my Zoom with me on all occasions whether it be for photography or video ... "just in case."
