what options for good wireless lav systems + no static Can't Post

i have 2 systems.

sampson micro 32 (dual diversity) and audio technica 1800 Series Portable Wireless.

i used the sampson for many years without ever once getting interference during an actual ceremony. the rf signal is unbelieveable. the audio technica is dual diversity as well if noticed a few static sounds (which is 100% unacceptable to me) and yesterdays wedding was rediculious. i was 10 feet from the groom and still getting static. before i throw the audio technica in the garbage, are there settings thaht may prevent this 100% all the time. i think i heard about increasing the rf signal power, ill look into this maybe thats all it is but it scares me. i hate that you have to scan the treceiver every time you enter a new venue, i never did that with my sampson. the only reason i dont like the sampson is becuase the antenna on the lav transmitter is pure crap and breas every 6 months because its so flimsy. god knows why sampson never fixes that. any feedback, im willingto buy another system but i dont really want to spend more than $600-700. i just want one thing. never ever any static during ceremony.

My suggestion, for the time being, save you money on new purchases and buy some extra antennas. This is from two angles...one, you admit liking the performance of the Sampson,...two...it is still an unknown what the FCC changes for 2009 will do do for current analog wireless systems. As The FCC opens the floodgates for the digital spectrum, it could very well make any currnet UHF wireless all but useless in many parts of the country....

do you know of any systems that will work fine after the 2009 change or does no one have any clue yet?

This is entirely up in the air right now.
The best way for wireless might be encrypted audio systems, like that from Zaxxcom. But they are currently very expensive right now.
This only effects us here in the U.S. and not the rest of the world.

This FCC crap bothered me at first but not anymore. With all the potential frequency violations out there I think it'll be slow to implement and my units will probably die before it becomes a problem.

In other words... until I start picking up orders for cheeseburgers at a nearby Mickey-D's it's time to change. Laugh
