3ccd tape on a 1cdd camera Can't Post

Can anyone tell me for sure if a 1ccd camera can playback a tape shot on a 3ccd camera?
Shot on a Canon XL1s
Attempted to play back on an RCA 9330
Thanks

The key is the format - if the tape was shot on an XL1s, the other camcorder must be capable of playing MiniDV recordings. (Note that some DVCam machines can play miniDV tapes.)
However, if the tape was shot at LP speed, it might not play well on a differnt machine.

YES... As long as you are using MiniDv, it will play. The CCDs have nothing to do with playback, they just capture your image as light enters the lens.
3 CCD cameras split the incoming light via prism, capturing separate Red, Green and Blue images which are then combine to make one whole frame. This frame is then converted to data and stored on the tape. 3 CCD cameras reproduce more vivid colors than their 1 CCD counterparts.
1 CCD cameras receive all colors, darks and lights onto one CCD to make a frame. Because they lack a prism, there can be better Contrast in a 1 CCD camera but you basically pay for what you get.
In all MiniDV cameras, the video information is stored in a standardized way. For example, I use a DVCAM deck with 0 CCDs to edit. The CCDs have nothing to do with playback.
Hope this helps.
