A1 Shoulder Mount Can't Post

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good shoulder mount adapter for the A1?

Thanks,

Joe

Something like that is totally subject to the user and their preferences. I use the DV Multirig Pro and it is configurable in many ways to be more than just a shoulder mount. I use it the whole day till the open dancing starts. I only use the should mode for the ceremony and first dance/parent dances. The rest is usually in Fig Rig mode. I have a few mods I am working on that will help it yield footage almost as smooth as a glidecam but I haven't got all the pieces figured out yet.

The multirig pro is my solution. Some have tried it and hate it....others tried it and love it. A little pricey but if you put it to use it is worth the investment. Just my .02.

I love this product... It is balanced and allows you to use both hands on the camera!

BTW, I mounted a Bogen quick release adapter on mine to allow easy transfer on and off for hte camera.

Wow! That is what I was looking for, something simple and inexpensive.

I use the Canon wide angle lens on my camera a lot. Would I need to purchase one of the additional counter weights?

Yeah, you'll probably need the weight.

Jerome....I have seen your footage from that thing and it is pretty decent. Next time we are in the same place at the same time please bring it along. I want to try it and see if I can talk Mrs. Frogman into giving it a whirl.

Well, broke down and order the shoulder mount earlier this week and got it today. I really like, but the only thing I ran into was the LCD screen on my A1 is a little close to my eye. I have a hard time focusing on it that close. I did put a bogen quick release plate on it which let me slide it another inch or so away and this helped.

Did you have any problem with this or is it just my old eyes?Unsure

Joe

I had the same problem when I got a DV MultiRig Pro. The screen is too close for my old man eyes. After one wedding with it I had a light bulb moment (brilliant idea).....reading glasses. I'm getting older and needed them anyway. I got 1.5 power reading glasses (almost the weakest one). Put them on a strap around my neck and when using the multirig those babies are sitting right on my nose. Don't care what I look like. I have a job to do.

The added benefit is now your screen is bigger so it is easier to see and get a good focus which is a weak spot on the A1. I thought it was a brilliant idea at the time....now I need the glasses for lots of other things too. You can see them here.

I only have 2 pair at the moment but I'm sure they will multiply like rabbits soon. My wife is even in the loop and has a pair.

BTW....she still remembers, and loves, the comment you made at Video 08 that Mrs. Frogman was "hot little number". She still loves you for that one.LaughLaughLaugh
