Adobe Premiere 4.0 Can't Post

I edited some digital GL1 footage with Premiere 4.0,
and now I'm trying to export the movie to a digital cassette.
My GL1 is connected by firewire to my iMacDV; I use the print to video function on Premiere and press record in Video mode on my GL1, but the camcorder records blank video. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Also, what are the best settings, dimensions, and compression to capture and export digital footage with no resolution loss at full size?
If someone can get back to me soon, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks.

Re: Adobe Premiere 4.0 Can't Post

I am not for sure about the Mac, here is what you have to do with a PC and Premiere 5 or 6. First, don't print to video, you print to tape (not sure if it is called this in Premiere 4). Make sure you have your Device Control set to your firewire card that way Premiere will be able to control your GL-1. If it is setup right, you should hit print to tape and your GL-1 will start recording automatically. As far as digital footage, I believe standard DV is 720x480 and the compression depends on your capture card. If anyone can verify this info or add to it lets hear it!
