Advice on using SLR lenses on XL1 Can't Post

Can anyone give my some advice about using Cannon SLR Lens on there XL1 I Know this is posible with a 500 us dollar converter from cannon has anyone used them and was the quality ok and any problems.Regards Mick turner

I've talked about this before on this forum - have a look in old postings. But the short of it is yes they do work, and if you have an L series pro lens with an image stabiliser then the actual picture quality and sharpness I found is *way* better than the standard zoom lens. Also you have to use them in manual mode so once you get focus it stays and there's none of that focus hunting going on. They do become 7x the normal focal length though and they are unusable without a tripod or image stabiliser because it's *very* shakey/jittery at large focal lengths.
