Canon GL2 problem, can anyone help? Can't Post

I have a new Canon GL2 camera and really like it. I use it to video outdoors. The last footage I took was flickering on the tv screen when I played it back on the television. Its a brand new tape in the camera. I use Sony premium mini dv tapes. The footage flickered and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas what would cause that? I didn't know if its the tape, or if I needed to get a tape head cleaner. If anyone has some advice I would appreciate any help you could give me.
Thank you,
Sean Lange

What settinds did you use on the camcorder - was in in full automatic mode or?????

Dirty heads or bad tape would normally results not in flickering but rather in lots of boxy shapes in the video.

What exactly do you mean by "flickering"? Does it do the same thing on another TV? Does it do it on the LCD screen on the camera?

You may have filmed in "movie mode" or your video cable from the camera to TV is loose or has a bad connection. A dirty head or bad tape would cause blocks on the screen rather than a flicker.
