Canon XL2 and Sony DSR 250 have similar price Can't Post

Ok, you can call me newbie, but there is something I can't understand: Why the XL2 price is similar or even superior than the Sony DSR 250?

From my point of view, the second camera presents more advantages than the first one...

Could anybody out there explain me that? because I have to buy a video camera for my company and this fact makes me doubt... I already have a XL1s and though I love the colors I got with it and I think that frame mode is really cool, I think that this camera is very fragile, comparing with Sony video cameras (my XL1s doesn't work anymore, and nobody knows why... But I'm still a XLs fan)... I need to justify the buying of a XL2 to my boss.

Thanks in advance

Cenis

If you don't need 24P then get the Sony. If you need 24P, then get the Panasonic DVX100a.

Isn't the Sony DSR250 esentially the PD150 internals in a shoulder mount/DV castette configuration? Believe it was released in 2000, so it is a 4-year old design. Other questions: do you need 9x16 capability? The ability to change lenses?

As to which camcorder to buy, define your own needs, dead what others say about the camcorders they own/use on a daily basis, do some hands on evaluation if you can, and buy the camcorder that best fits YOUR needs.
