Canon raised the price of their cleaning Can't Post

I sent one of my XL series cameras in a month ago for cleaning. I got charged the standard $252 for the clean. I sent my other one in this week and the price has gone up. In the last week they've decided that cleaning is a "major repair" and not a standard repair, even though its considered routine. Just wanted to let everyone know who might be sending a camera in for cleaning.

Have you ever tried Camera Repair Japan out of Duluth? They do a good job and are reasonable. I don't know what they charge for cleaning but I will be bringing my GL2 in within the next few weeks and will let you know.

Thanks for the info. Please let me know what they charge you. I would much rather drop off a camera than send it in the mail any day.

I dropped my camera off at CRJ yesterday and asked them about standard head cleaning charges. i was told for the GL and XL Canons it's $79.00. Hope this info helps and they are local! Smile
