You have to watch out for the places that have these cameras priced $1000 less than everyone else. If you're looking at any particular place, check out resellerratings.com to see how they rate.

B&H's $4000 price is reasonable - a friend bought one about 5 months ago from a reputable 'discount' house for $4500.

Any offer substantially below this price is probably a schlock outfit that will either try to 'upgrade' you with a bunch of cheap accessories or try to charge you for warrantee, included accessories, etc.

I trust B&H implicitly.

Not mentioned enough:

Ask what kind of warranty they have. If it's not a U.S. warranty, its about as good as 1,000 shares of ENRON stock - don't get it.

WARNING if you really want the XL2 and you can wait, wait until they release the XLH1 the XL2's HD model, then people will be selling their XL2's for cheap, and some used ones should come on the B&H used section. or you can go and even buy the XLH1 if you have about $9,000

But i know people will be selling their XL2's at that point, and the XL2's price for new ones will come down.
