I'll amplify what Pavel said: Adobe Premiere supports stop motion capture. It isn't really a post-production technique. It is actually a very cool feature of the software. It will even show a "ghost" of the last frame captured -- superimposed over the live video -- as an aid to positioning your models. It means that your set can only be the length of the firewire cable from your computer, and you have to be able to click the mouse to capture the frame, but that really isn't a whole lot more burdesome than running around behind the camera to advace the film in traditional stop-motion, and with a laptop -- or a wireless mouse -- it might actually be easier. : Thank for your response Pavel. I would like to get into contact with someone who has successfully done claymation with the xl1 to find out their techniques. Otherwise I'll do my best to edit in post production. I have a still camera but I'd rather use the xl1. Anyone else have any advice for me? Thanks! : Tana : : You cannot record one frame only on Canon XL1! You cannot record one frame on any miniDV camera. Solution to this would be to use non linear editing system. Adobe premiere has got one frame capture option. : : : : : : Can someone please tell me how to do claymation with an Xl1? I don't know how to get one frame at a time. Help!!! : : : Thanks, : : : Tana
