Clicking Noise on XL-1 Can't Post

Apologies if this is vague........
I thinking to buy a secondhand XL-1 here in the UK (via Ebay). Seller has informed
me when zooming (in both auto & manual mode) the lens makes a very quiet
clicking sound. Is this enough in itself to not proceed with the purchase. Does this
indicate a specific problem in anyones experience?
Thanks for looking,

that'd depend on what you are shooting really. if it's a good rebate off the price for that problem alone AND your shoots doesn't depend much on audio, then i think it's still passable. the problem is that if there's a clicking noise from the zoom, it's gonna be audible onto your cam mic. however, if u're gonna use external mics for your shoot, in my experience, most probly u'll only hear it if you're looking out for it(if it's really a clicking noise instead of a tapping one).
when u can, try to check if the clicking noise actually comes from a 'dirty' zooming ring and if the zoom's smooth enough.
