Dry mini dv tapes? Can't Post

Hi, I recently purchased a panasonic dvx100, I know that doesnt fall under this category of canon's, but my question may be relevant. While browsing some auctions on ebay I noticed a bunch of people kept mentioning the use of only "dry mini dv tapes". I was just curious as to what the difference is in those tapes, and if that is what I should be using once i receive the camcorder. Also, if I should use these tapes, which are good ones to use? thanks alot
Dustin
