GL1 distortion on bottom of screen? Can't Post

I recently picked up a GL1, used, in outstanding condition except for one little problem: tapes shot on it have a line of slight distortion (almost like a bar of slight fuzzy brightness) across the entire bottom border of the picture frame. It is most noticeable when panning but seems present all the time. I can once in a while acually catch a glimpse of this on the viewfinder and it is most visible when transferring to PC, from any given playback device (the GL1, other cameras, etc...). Anyone experience anything similar with this model or any other camera? I have used about 5 different cameras of various quality over the years but haven't seen anything quite like this.

Thanks,
John
