Has my XL1 bit the dust??

Hey everyone- I have a 5-year-old XL1 that I treasure... I tuck it in every night before I go to bed, and make sure it's well fed with high quality tapes. Unfortunately, something very wrong has happened to the poor bugger. About a month ago, I noticed a slight "fog" around the edges of the video. I assumed it was a viewfinder problem, but it was actually captured on the tape as well. Now the haze seems to be growing (yes... growing), and is engulfing the entire video. I've changed lenses, to no avail. So I'm guessing I've got a major issue with CCD's here. In which case I'll probably opt-out of getting it fixed and just update. Anyone ever had/heard of this before? I swear, it looks just like I'm looking through some dense fog... WTF?? Any input is greatly appreciated. Michael Lynnwood, WA
